Q&A about baptism

Q. What is baptism?

A. It is a ritual (sacrament) of Christian initiation. It is based on the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. Usually the priest pours water on the head three times while chanting the prescribed words. The Catholic Church believes that baptism absolves original sin and previous sins.

Q. I would like to be baptized, what should I do?

A. In principle, adults are required to take an introductory course. For children and in emergency situations, please contact us .

Q. Can I be baptized even if my family members belong to a different religion?

A. Yes, you can. Baptism does not require the permission of others, including family members.

It is an individual's free will. It doesn't matter what your family's religion is or what your previous religion is. Of course, I would be even happier if I could get the understanding of my family.
