For those coming to church for the first time

Q. What is a church?

A. A church is a gathering of people who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Therefore, church is not just a place or a church building. It is called 〇〇 church because believers mainly gather in the church building. Although it has historically been divided into various sects, Toyoshima Church is a Roman Catholic church.

Q. Can I enter the church cathedral at any time?

A. Anyone is welcome to come in anytime. Cathedral opening hours

Q. Who is Jesus Christ?

A. Jesus Christ is God's only Son, sent on a mission by God, the Creator of heaven and earth. He was crucified for the sake of the people, died and was buried, but rose from the dead on the third day and ascended to heaven, entrusting the mission of preaching the gospel to his disciples. The teachings of Jesus Christ have been spreading throughout the world for two thousand years.

Q. Who is the Virgin Mary?

A. A woman who gave birth to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The Virgin Mary is an intercessor for prayers to God, so she is loved and admired by believers as an object of ``veneration'' rather than worship.

Q. Who are the saints?

A. A saint is a believer who, in imitation of Christ, has dedicated a life of poverty, works of charity, and patience to God and others. Saints are revered as models for Christians. The patron saint of Toyoshima Church is St. Patrick.

Q. Will I be solicited if I go to church?

A. We do not solicit. Christianity is a religion that values ``free will choice.''

Q. Can I take pictures of the church? Can I post it on SNS etc?

A. Please refrain from visiting during Mass. For non-personal use or for commercial purposes, permission is required, so please contact the church .
